Kitchen & Bathroom Remodeling FAQ

Straight answers to the questions we hear most from Indianapolis-area homeowners.

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in the Indianapolis area?+

Most full kitchen remodels we complete in Hamilton, Boone, Hancock, and Marion counties land between $38,000 and $95,000, depending on layout changes, cabinetry level, and countertop material. A cabinet refresh with new countertops and hardware — no layout changes — typically runs $18,000–$32,000. We give every homeowner a written, itemized proposal before any work starts, so you know the real number for your project, not a marketing range.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?+

A primary bathroom remodel typically takes 3–5 weeks from demo to final walkthrough. A powder room or secondary bath usually runs 1.5–3 weeks. Timelines depend mostly on whether we're moving plumbing lines and how far out custom cabinetry or tile needs to be ordered — we build both into your schedule up front so the date we give you is the date we hit.

Do you handle permits and inspections?+

Yes. We pull all required permits for your city or county — Carmel, Fishers, Westfield, Noblesville, Zionsville, Boone County, Hancock County, and Indianapolis/Marion County all have slightly different processes, and we handle the paperwork and inspection scheduling as part of every project.

Can I stay in my home during the remodel?+

For most kitchen and bathroom remodels, yes. We seal off the work area with dust barriers and keep a clear path through the rest of the house. If you're down to one bathroom during a primary bath remodel, or your kitchen is fully disconnected for more than a few days, we'll walk you through what to expect before we start — no surprises.

What's the difference between quartz, granite, and quartzite countertops?+

Quartz is engineered stone — extremely consistent, low-maintenance, and doesn't need sealing. Granite is natural stone with more variation and character, and needs sealing roughly once a year. Quartzite is natural stone that looks similar to marble but is significantly harder and more heat-resistant. We bring samples of all three to your consultation so you're deciding based on the slab in front of you, not a swatch photo.

Do you offer financing?+

Yes — we work with a small set of financing partners offering fixed monthly payments, including options with no interest if paid within a promotional window. We walk through real numbers for your specific project during your consultation; see our financing page for current partner details.

How far in advance should I book?+

Our schedule typically runs 3–6 weeks out for a design consultation and 6–10 weeks out for project start, longer during spring and early summer when demand peaks across Hamilton and Boone counties. If you have a target date — a holiday, a move-in, a baby — tell us at the consultation and we'll build the schedule around it where we can.

Do you do the work yourselves or subcontract it?+

Our core crews — carpentry, tile, and project management — are our own employees, not day-labor subcontractors. We do bring in licensed trade partners for plumbing and electrical work that requires their specific license, and we've worked with the same small group of trade partners for years.
